How to enable 2FA for your Shopify account

Two-factor authentication (2FA) protects your Shopify account even if your password leaks. Follow the steps below to generate Shopify verification codes with the Authenticator App on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Open your Security settings
Sign in to your Shopify admin in a web browser. Click your store name in the top bar, select your profile, and then click Security.
Turn on two-step authentication
In the Two-step authentication section, click Turn on two-step.
Confirm your password
Enter your account password to verify your identity, then click Next.
Choose Authenticator app
From the Authentication method list, select Authenticator app as your two-step method.
Scan the QR code with your Authenticator App
On your iPhone, open the Authenticator App, tap the + button, and scan the QR code shown by Shopify. If you cannot scan it, choose to enter a setup/secret key manually and type the key Shopify displays.
Enter the 6-digit verification code
Back on Shopify, enter the six-digit code generated by your authenticator app, then click Turn on to confirm.
Save your recovery codes and backup method
Set up an optional backup authentication method and save the recovery codes Shopify provides. Store them in multiple safe places, such as a password manager or a printed copy.
